How ChordPocket works

A chord library and songbook for people learning guitar, built to be fast, clear and free of clutter.

Chord diagrams

Every one of the 300 chords is worked out from music theory and standard tuning. Each shape is checked so that every string you play is a note in the chord, the lowest note is the root, and you never need more than four fingers. We show the most common shape first, then barre and higher-position alternatives.

Chord sounds

The play button synthesizes a plucked acoustic string for each note in the shape and strums them low to high, so you hear exactly the voicing in the diagram.

Songs

Our songbook covers traditional songs, carols, hymns and classical themes that are free for everyone to use. Each chart is our own simple accompaniment, written so it can be played with open chords. Use the key and capo tool on any song to move it to a comfortable range.
